Production
Very ripe large and small Manseng grapes from the older vines situated on the specific land of 'poudingues' (pudding stones) on a hillside. They were sorted manually.
Vinification
The skins of the grapes were macerated and gently pressed. This was followed by static 'débourbage' (filtering the wine to remove any deposits) and then slow fermentation. The wine was then left to age on its lees for some time before being racked off (the intention being to add extra richness and flavour to the wine) for one year, with regular stirring of the lees (employed to impart body and flavour).
MILLESIME 2010
The conditions for harvesting in 2010 were exceptional, with the sun and south winds of the Indian summer. Maturation was done slowly allowing the fruit to become filled with sugar and concentrated flavours and aromas.
Tasting
LOOK: Brilliant straw yellow.
NOSE: Of grand intensity and remarkable complexity, combines harmoniously the aromas of orange zest, aniseed and grilled nuts
TASTE: FA lively attack, but also round, full, and nicely perfumed. The aftertaste is lengthily prolonged and graced with vivacity and aromatic elegance.
Conservation
The wine is ready to drink now but will keep its finesse and elegance until 2017.
